Spotting a loan scam: 5 warning signs

Fees to pay upfront, instant approval, payment by prepaid card: the signs that should stop you.

Be wary if you are asked to pay to “release” a loan, to send money by prepaid card, cryptocurrency or transfer abroad, or if approval is promised without any documents.

A legitimate lender:

  • identifies itself (company name, registration number, ORIAS or licence);
  • gives you a written offer;
  • asks for no fees before payout;
  • gives you time to think.

Scammers sometimes copy the name and logo of real firms. Always check the website address (socialhelpcredit.com) and the sender’s email address. If in doubt, contact us through the website form and report the ad on your country’s official platform.
